General Information

DNA testing has become more and more popular over the past decade as a way to prove a biological relationship between two or more people.  The most common DNA test is a paternity test and is used to see if a man is the father of a child.  Other relationship tests are used to see if you are related as siblings (brother and/or sisters), grandparents and even aunt or uncles.

Options to Fit Your Needs

Dr's Choice First offers a certified court admissible document test, a non-legal test as well as a home test kit.  A court admissible test includes positively identifying all parties and following a strict chain of custody.   The non-legal test is useful when the child is an adult and a legal document is no longer needed.  Our a home test kit can be ordered over the phone and arrives via USPS within 3 business days.  The non-legal and home test kits are for personal knowledge only and could never be used for anything legal or official.  The only difference between the legal and non-legal test is the paperwork involved and the need or desire to have an official certified document.  All tests are equally accurate as long as the correct people are swabbed when using the home DNA test kit.

Dr's Choice First is partnered with a fully accredited DNA testing laboratory which is certified by the American Association of Blood Bank (AABB), ACLASS Accreditation Services (ISO/IED 17025), The American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB-International ), College of American Pathologists (CAP), New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).
